Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A graphic designer has hit upon a novel approach for new football kits, drawing inspiration for Pixar's wildly popular animations.
Martin Turner, a Nottingham based designer, said that the project started as a way to keep his skills sharp.
But the first set of designs prompted such a strong reaction that he decided to do four more - he's also said he may do more designs in future.
"I'd like to say a massive thank you to all who have followed and promoted my original project," he wrote on the website, "it started out as an excercise to keep my photoshop skills sharp and have a bit of fun and I have been astounded by the response I have recieved."
Some of your favourite characters appear in the eight designs, that took a Nike template and used various references from the films to make the badges, sponsors and designs.
On the Buzz Lightyear kit, for example, the Star Command logo is used for the badge and Dinoco is used as a sponsor - the fictional company is the petrol station Woody and Buzz visit in the first film.
