Your support makes all the difference.A group of urban free climbers have recorded themselves breaking into Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and climbing all the way onto the roof, before being led away by a police officer, in a worrying breach of security.
Free climber Ally Law has over 130k subscribers on YouTube, and has previously climbed the likes of Blackpool Tower, the Stealth rollercoaster at Thorpe Park and a huge abandoned gas tower in London.
His last video sees him breaking into City’s ground with a group of friends, before making it all the way onto the roof of the 55k-capacity stadium.
He records himself dangling his legs off the very edge of the roof in one stomach-churning moment, only to be accosted by an armed police officer who tells them that a helicopter is on its way to pick them up.
The group decides to leave with the officer, with Law now claiming that City have informed him that they are now taking legal action against him and his friends.
He also alleges that the officer in the video threatened to “smash their f****** faces in” if they ever return to the stadium after hours.
This is not the first time security flaws at some of the biggest stadiums around the country have been exposed by YouTubers.
In December, after successfully making his way undetected into the Emirates, a YouTuber named DyingLlama was able to access the stands, pitch and roof of the 60,000 capacity stadium.
He then repeated the feat the following day at the London Stadium after spontaneously trying his luck at the West Ham ground.
And in June this year, Manchester United condemned the actions of four “stupid and irresponsible” fans who illegally broke into Old Trafford.
The four young men were all freerunners and gained access in the middle of the night, with the city still on high alert following the Manchester terror attacks.
Footage showed the freerunners climbing onto the Old Trafford roof, running across the pitch and sit in the dugout – all without being challenged by security.
The group then left the stadium via an open door, narrowly escaping a security guard.
