Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. There is no stopping John Terry, here he is back in training for next season already.
The Chelsea captain was one of only four outfield players* to play every minute in the Premier League last season, guiding the Blues to the title.
The 34-year-old has uploaded this video (below) to his Instagram account, where the defender can be seen in the gym before saying: "Lonely night in the gym tonight".
Chelsea are back in pre-season training next week ahead of kicking off the new season against FA Cup winners Arsenal in the Community Shield on 2 August.
VIDEO: TERRY BACK IN TRAINING
The Community Shield will see Petr Cech making an appearance against his former side. The 33-year-old made the trip across London to sign for the Gunners for £11m this week.
Of Cech, Terry wrote on Instagram earlier this week: "Good Luck Big Pete," Terry wrote. "It's been an absolute pleasure mate. You have won everything and been the very best season after season. CHELSEA LEGEND"
*The other three outfield players to appear in every minute in the Premier League last season were Mohamed Elmohamady (Hull City), Aaron Cresswell (West Ham), and Terry's Chelsea team-mate Branislav Ivanovic.
