Your support makes all the difference.The former West Ham, Manchester United and Luton goalkeeper Les Sealey died yesterday of a heart attack, aged 43. He leaves a wife, Elaine, and two teenage sons, Joe and George, who are both trainee goalkeepers at West Ham.
Sealey's major successes came at Old Trafford in the early 1990s. He was a surprise replacement for Jim Leighton in the 1990 FA Cup final replay victory over Crystal Palace, retaining his place the next season and starring in the 1991 European Cup-Winners' Cup final defeat of Barcelona in Rotterdam. His 564-game career spanned 22 years. He also played for Coventry, Blackpool, Birmingham, Aston Villa, Plymouth, Bury and Leyton Orient.
The Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Staniforth died in York on Sunday. The 20-year-old collapsed on a night out. The cause of death is not yet known. His father, Gordon, played League football for Hull, York, Carlisle, Plymouth and Newport County.
