Mr Dossena told Corriere dello Sport that he had inadvertently forgotten to pay for a jar of honey and a pack of dried beef while shopping in Harrod’s food hall with his wife and young son. 22/5/15
Former Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena has been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at famous department store Harrods.
The 33-year-old, who now plies his trade at League One Leyton Orient, was bailed along with a 31-year-old woman - reported to be his girlfriend.
A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were called to the west London store.
"Police arrested a 33-year-old male and a 31-year-old woman on April 7 on suspicion of shoplifting at Harrods," a spokesman told the Liverpool Echo.
"They were taken to a west London police station.
"Both the man and woman have been bailed to a date in late April, pending further enquiries."
Dossena famously scored two fantastic goals in a week for the club in 2009, in fantastic wins against Real Madrid and then Manchester United.
