The 23-year-old right-back broke his leg, badly damaged his ankle and dislocated his shoulder at the same time while attempting to block an effort on goal.
The New Zealander distributed his weight unevenly as he turned his back to the ball, which caused him to land awkwardly and sustain the damage.
Roux waved for medical attention as the game went on and play was eventually suspended for approximately 10 minutes while he was treated and given oxygen on the pitch.
The defender was then carried off on a stretcher by the Mariners’ medical team.
The A-League club believe that Roux fractured his fibula, suffered ankle ligament damage and injured his right shoulder.
The defender, who was accompanied to hospital by physio Andrew Nealon, will miss the rest of the league season.
The Mariners lost the game 4-1 and remain bottom of the A-League table.
