Still only 32, the Brazilian has been without a club since being released by Atletico Paranaense in April, but could make a shock return to football with Ligue 2 side Le Havre, according to France Football.
Le Havre's new president Christophe Maillol is looking to make a marquee signing for the club who currently sit seventh with 15 points from their first 10 matches.
"He will hopefully come to Normandy in a fortnight," he told the magazine.
"We invited him to take a look the club’s facilities, the city, and the region. It is an honour to receive a worldwide soccer star."
In spells at Parma and Inter between 2002 and 2006, Adriano was one of the best striker's in world football, scoring 84 goals in 150 matches in all competitions for the two clubs in those four seasons.
Adriano eventually helped Inter to four league titles, though his impact in the final two of those was minimal, and two Coppa Italia wins.
During that four-year spell he was also named the best player and top scorer in the 2004 Copa America and the 2005 Confederations Cup, tournaments that Brazil won, a spell where he scored 25 goals in 35 matches for the Selecao.
But injuries and poor performance, fueled by rumours of a party lifestyle, led to his decline and while he had a brief renaissance with Flamengo (leading to another crack at Europe with Roma), his career never recovered.
