The England international quickly assumed the club captaincy and has been a fixture in the back line since then, with his latest outing coming in the 0-0 draw with Leeds United on Sunday.
That appearance, in fact, was his 71st Premier League outing in succession where Maguire played the full 90 minutes, with Opta noting it as equalling the club record in the modern era.
He equals the tally set by another former centre-back, Gary Pallister, who reached 71 across nearly two years spanning November 1993 to May 1995.
Maguire can thus set a new record of his own if he completes the entire 90 against rivals Liverpool, when the two clubs meet at Old Trafford on Sunday 2 May.
Before then, Maguire leads his team out in Europe once more as he bids to take the side toward the Europa League final, with the Red Devils set to face Roma in the semi-final first leg on Thursday.
He has played just over 100 times for United in all competitions, and along with looking to secure the first piece of silverware of his career he will also be aiming to complete his first two league campaigns as an ever-present since signing.
Man United appear almost certain to finish second in the Premier League this term, while Maguire will then turn his attentions to Euro 2020 over the summer, where he is likely to be a first-choice starter with England.
