My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.

Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Welcome along to Thursday’s transfer news live with the latest rumours, gossip and done deals from the Premier League and around Europe. There are a number of top players primed for a move and ready to contribute immediately, but as Manchester United have proven with the signing of Amad Diallo, the best young talents in the world are always on the radar of the top clubs, including Palmeiras wonder kid Gabriel Veron. One of the priorities in the final week of the window will be to shed any dead weight, to streamline the squad and ensure the atmosphere in the group remains as good as possible.

Today’s rumour mill involves Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton in particular, while Danny Ings, who has transformed his career at Southampton, and Nico Barella, Inter Milan’s midfield phenomenon, are the most valuable names doing the rounds over the last 24 hours.

Dele Alli remains out of favour at Spurs under Jose Mourinho and Paris Saint-Germain could offer him a lifeline this month under former boss Mauricio Pochettino, having fallen out of form and therefore out of the picture for England ahead of Euro 2020.  PSG of course must be conscious of securing the long-term futures of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, with Real Madrid lurking after the Frenchman resisted signing a new contract.

Manchester United meanwhile could reward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for positioning the club in the thick of the title picture, though there could be many outgoings at Old Trafford, too, with Juan Mata linked to his former club Valencia.

Mesut Ozil’s move to Fenerbahce, United’s deal to bring in Amad Diallo from Atalanta and Sebastian Haller’s big-money deal to leave West Ham for Ajax rank among the most significant deals of January so far. Follow all the latest developments below.

HOURIHANE REVEALS WHY HE CHOSE TO LEAVE VILLA

Conor Hourihane has admitted he left Aston Villa because of a lack of regular game time.

The midfielder has joined Swansea on loan until the end of the season after making just five appearances so far this term.

“It just ticked all the boxes and it made the decision quite easy," Hourihane told Swansea's website.

“I am desperate to play, I could have sat around at Villa for the rest of the season, but I want to play. I hope I can bring some experience as I have had a couple of promotions in my career.

“But I want to add quality too, in terms of goals and assists my numbers have been pretty good in seasons where I have played, so I hope I can bring that here.”

UNITED LEGEND SUGGESTS CLUB WON’T MOVE FOR GREALISH

Former Manchester United midfielder Bobby Robson has hinted that the Premier League leaders will not pursue the signing of Jack Grealish.

The Aston Villa captain, in exceptional form this season, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

“He’s a powerful player. He’s quite a strong boy and he’s quick and the way he can sort of go either way past people he’s always going to be a danger and that’s why he gets so many free kicks," Robson told Sky Sports.

“Him and Villa have been terrific this season. He’s been linked with us but those decisions, thank goodness, are with Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] and the board of directors.

“I wouldn’t mind seeing Jack Grealish in a Manchester United shirt. But I don’t know whether the staff at Old Trafford fancy him, as much as you’d like to see him playing for your club.”

ARTETA GIVES UPDATE ON ARSENAL’S TRANSFER PLANS

Mikel Arteta has revealed that Arsenal will now focus on bringing in players after letting several fringe players leave this month.

"We've done the first part (trimming the squad) more or less and now we are focusing on the second phase," the Arsenal boss said.

"Obviously this market and the context makes it really difficult but we are looking at options and we will see what we can do. We are looking at various positions because the movements that we've made in this transfer window with some players leaving the club leaves us a little bit short in certain areas. If we can then we will do it, if we can't then we will just keep going with what we have.

"We could not carry on with 31 players in the squad. This is unmanageable. When you have to leave some of the foreign players out it makes it even more difficult.

"For a few weeks maybe it’s ok but to do it for months and maintain the health and ambition and the chemistry around the place it’s really complicated. One of the main objectives was to make some decisions of how we’re going to offset that."

Fulham will listen to offers for Stefan Johansen, Maxime Le Marchand and Jean Michael Seri, according to Sky Sports.

Johansen is reportedly a target for QPR, while Galatasaray want to sign midfielder Seri, who has failed to meet expectations following his high-profile move to Craven Cottage in 2018.

Le Marchand, meanwhile, could head to Ligue 1 side Nice having featured just twice this season.
