Sergio Aguero cancelled out Glenn Murray's opener for Brighton 83 seconds after Manchester City fell behind.

The Argentine's smart finish from a tight angle quickly brought City back on level terms with Liverpool ahead at the time.

Aymeric Laporte's header then put City in front with the Champions back in control of the title race with 45 minutes remaining of the season.

Sadio Mane had earlier given the Reds the lead, meaning City require three points to retain their title and deny Jurgen Klopp's side.

Murray's opener came from a corner, jumping above Oleksandr Zinchenko and heading between Ederson and the near post.

City are looking to win a 14th successive game to confirm back-to-back titles.

It was Aguero's 164th Premier League goal for City, moving him sixth in the all-time standings.

Thierry Henry is next to catch, 11 ahead in fifth on 175 goals for Arsenal.
