Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's FA Cup third round action, where the Premier League and Championship clubs enter the famous competition.

Fans will be looking out for the latest upset with three non-league sides in action today. Blyth Spartans entertain Championship side Birmingham at Croft Park, Gateshead travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom and Southport face Derby County at Pride Park.

Elsewhere, there is an all-Premier League tie between Leicester and Newcastle at the King Power Stadium, with the Magpies confirming earlier today that manager Alan Pardew has left the club to take over as Crystal Palace manager.

In the other standout ties of the day, Barnsley host Middlesbrough at Oakwell, Bolton take on Wigan in a Lancashire derby at the Macron Stadium, and Cambridge United entertain Luton in an all-League Two clash that will see a representative of the fourth tier of English football guaranteed in the fourth round.

Premier League side Swansea travel to Prenton Park to take on Tranmere, and Championship leaders Bournemouth face Rotherham at the New York Stadium.
