Reigning European champions Liverpool take on Atletico Madrid after topping their group. Premier League champions Manchester City are rewarded for the same with a two-legged tie with Real Madrid. Elsewhere Barcelona play Napoli and Borussia Dortmund will take Paris Saint-Germain. We'll have all the latest reaction for you right here:

Atletico vs Liverpool and Real Madrid vs Manchester City immediately leap off the page. Very different clubs, very different managers, very different styles. They should be great to watch.

Chelsea vs Bayern Munich also feels huge, especially given the history between those clubs, a history Frank Lampard will know well. Tottenham have the best draw of the English quartet, undoubtedly, but Leipzig are going well this season and that will be a fascinating match-up on the touchline between the old skulduggery of Jose Mourinho and the new-wave mastery of Julian Nagelsmann.

I haven't even mentioned Dortmund vs PSG yet. That sounds like one of those games that happens every year but they haven't actually played each other since a Europa League pair of games in 2011. What inventive way will PSG come up with to get knocked out this year? Thrilled to find out.

What a great draw for Atalanta, by the way. Their first ever Champions League campaign and they manage to pull Valencia in the round of 16. You could say the same for Valencia, of course, who will be pleased to have avoided Chelsea, Tottenham and Dortmund. What we know is that one of those two will be in the quarter-finals.

A reminder that the Europa League draw is up next...

The draw hasn't significantly changed the odds for this year's Champions League winner. Manchester City are still pipping Liverpool, which I still find a bit odd. Barcelona, Bayern and PSG in close attendance.

Here's Kelly Smith teeing up Real Madrid for Manchester City to take on.
