The Gunners were looking to get their league form back on track after a disappointing defeat to Southampton on their last league outing and did so with a 3-0 win over the Potters.
Alexis Sanchez scored twice following an early opener from Laurent Koscielny.
Manchester United then hosted Southampton in the second game of the day. It saw Louis van Gaal and Ronald Koeman come together once again with the latter coming out on top. Southampton won 1-0.
