Your support makes all the difference.Footballers often take a lot of criticism for their well-paid, extravagant lifestyle, especially since the money in the sport increased to unfathomable amounts. So it’s always relieving to see a video that sees a moment of generosity brighten an ambitious young fan’s day.
Brazil star David Luiz is the player in question after an intruder to the side’s training session – namely eight-year-old Daniel Jr – evaded security and ran onto the pitch where the Brazil squad were going through the motions.
After taking aim towards the former Chelsea defender, Luiz couldn’t stop himself from jumping over the barrier himself and embracing the young boy, who burst into tears of joy at the sight of meeting his hero.
Not content with already making Daniel Jr’s day, Luiz proceeded to take off the shirt he was wearing to give to the Selecao fan, but not before signing it to give him the perfect gift.
Not believing what he was seeing, the boy remains visibly emotional throughout, putting his hands on his head in disbelief at Luiz’s generosity, and the security who would have been trying to keep the boy out of the training base (with little success) were soon gathered round the pair smiling away.

The incident is not the first time a Brazil player has shown such generosity when a youngster has intruded onto the pitch, after Neymar protected a young supporter who had run on to the pitch during a friendly between Brazil and South Africa in March. The post boy of the 2014 World Cup invited the South African supporter to meet the rest of his team-mates, and even posed for pictures with the entire squad who proceeded to lift him into the air in celebration.
With Brazil yet to show their best at their home tournament, Daniel Jr will not be the only on hoping for an up-turn in performances in their final Group A match against Cameroon.
