At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The remaining games are United States vs Germany and Portugal vs Ghana. Both kick off at 5pm and are on the BBC.
Germany – Need a draw or win over the United States
For Germany, a draw will see them proceed to the last 16 whilst also topping the group.
United States – Need a draw or win over Germany
After being mere seconds from guaranteeing a place in the knockout stages when they conceded a late goal to Portugal last week, the US will proceed if they salvage a draw against the Germans. If they win, they will top the group, leaving Germany at risk of not making it through the group stages.
Ghana - Require a win over Portugal as well as a a tiebreaker win over Germany/USA
Ghana's route to the last 16 is far from straight forward. Should they beat the Portuguese and Germany beat the USA, they could go through. However, if the USA lose by one goal and Ghana win by one, the Black Stars would lose the tiebreaker. Ghana could also knock Germany out of the World Cup if the USA beat the Germans by a significant amount, giving Ghana a better goal difference.
Portugal - Must beat Ghana and require USA/Germany loss and superior goal difference
Portugal clung on to the World Cup with a last-second goal over the USA to draw 2-2. However their hopes of making the last 16 remain slim as they need to beat Ghana as well have either the US or Germany lose by a noteworthy scoreline. Their hopes lie on a US loss but at the moment they are five back on goal difference, and eight back on Germany.
