Your support makes all the difference.France were held to a 1-1 draw by Israel in last night's World Cup Group Four qualifier in Tel Aviv, with French striker David Trezeguet sent off after 55 minutes for a head-butt.
Trezeguet had put France ahead in the 50th minute, but Walid Badir equalised for Israel seven minutes from the whistle. In the other match in Group Four, which also contains Ireland, Switzerland beat Cyprus 1-0 with Alex Frei scoring in the 88th minute.
In Group Seven, Belgium clung on to their 2-1 lead after Daniel Van Buyten struck in the 64th minute to beat San Marino, who had equalised in the 41st minute through Andy Selva, their only professional.
In Group Three, Miroslav Karhan converted a penalty in the eighth minute to put Slovakia in front against Portugal, but the qualifier ended in a 1-1 draw after Helder Postiga's second-half equaliser. The two sides are still joint top of the group with 14 points from six games. In the two other Group Three matches, Luxembourg beat Latvia 4-2, while Estonia and Russia drew 1-1.
In Group One the Netherlands beat Armenia 2-0 with goals from Romeo Castelen and Ruud van Nistelrooy, Romania beat Macedonia 2-1, while Andorra went down 4-0 to the Czech Republic. The Netherlands remain top with 16 points, one point clear of the Czech Republic.
Croatia went to the top of Group Eight with a 3-0 win at home over Malta.
