England manager Fabio Capello has confirmed that John Terry has been ruled out of tomorrow's World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan.

The England captain had been a doubt for the game with a back complaint which had prevented him from training.

Rio Ferdinand will take the captain's armband at Wembley in Terry's absence.

Capello told Sky Sports News: "It is a problem in the back for John Terry.

"(But) we have plenty of players, we have the substitutes, I am sure the substitute of John Terry will play well."

When asked if the Chelsea skipper would be fit for the Belarus match on Wednesday, the Italian continued: "I don't know, it depends on his back, if he can train a bit the day after tomorrow."
