Rivaldo hits late winner to stun Real

Two goals from the Brazilian playmaker Kaka steered Milan through to the knock-out stages of the Champions' League last night with a 3-2 win over Schalke. Andrea Pirlo was also on target for the Italians, while Christian Poulsen and Cassio Lincoln scored for the Germans.

Phillip Cocu and Jefferson Farfan were on target as PSV Eindhoven beat Fenerbahce 1-0 to clinch their place in the last 16.

Former Barcelona star Rivaldo scored the winner for Olympiakos to consign Real Madrid to a 2-1 defeat in Greece. Real still qualify but Lyon topped Group F after a last-minute winner from Brazilian striker Fred in a 2-1 win over Rosenborg.
