There have been suggestions Fabio Capello's handling of Terry's appointment has annoyed senior figures within the England dressing room.
Rio Ferdinand would appear to be disgruntled given he has twice avoided the chance to speak with Capello for the Italian's reasoning behind axing the currently injured Manchester United star.
However, Johnson has no doubt all will be well when England begin their preparations for Saturday's Euro 2012 qualifier with Wales at Arsenal's London Colney training complex tomorrow.
"What has gone on has nothing to do with anyone," said the Liverpool defender, who was speaking on a guided tour of the Ellesmere Port car plant of new sponsors Vauxhall.
"John Terry has been a fantastic captain for Chelsea and England. I am sure he will carry on doing the same job.
"Obviously Rio will be upset to lose the armband. But he is a big man and he will pick himself up and get on with it.
"I don't think it will be a divisive issue. Everyone is a professional and they will go about their job in the right way.
"I am sure everyone will be fine."
The absence of Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard does create a hole in Capello's squad that will need to be filled.
Jack Wilshere's emergence helps of course whilst, with Phil Jagielka returning, England do have plenty of options in central defence.
After dropping points against Montenegro in October, England cannot afford to lose any more ground in the battle to reach the finals in Poland and the Ukraine by slipping up against a side who are yet to collect a point in Group G.
And that means Johnson in particular will have to be on his guard as he tries to subdue the threat of Welsh dangerman Gareth Bale.
"Bale is the main danger," said Johnson.
"He is a fantastic player who has been doing really well this season.
"He is obviously a very good player - but we have good players too.
"We have to concentrate on ourselves because we want those three points."
