Your support makes all the difference.Sepp Blatter delivered a wide ranging speech after winning re-election as Fifa president, saying that football's governing body "needs ladies", that he's "not perfect" and that "I am the president of everybody".
The controversial Swiss will be in charge for another four years after winning the first vote by 133 to 73. It was not enough to win outright, with a two-thirds majority required, but before a second vote could be held his only challenger, Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, conceded.
After Prince Ali threw in the towel, a triumphant looking Blatter, who appeared to be struggling to contain a smile, took the stage. This is what he said...
"I thank you, you have accepted me for the next four years. I will be in command of this boat called Fifa. We will bring it back off shore.
"We need in this committee women. We need ladies.
"We won’t touch the World Cup. I am a faithful man, God, Allah, whoever, they will help us to bring back this Fifa. At the end of my (four year) term, I will give Fifa to my successor. It will be robust.
"I like you. I like my job. I am not perfect. Nobody is perfect. But we will do a good job together I'm sure. I thank you so much for the trust and confidence, trust and confidence together we go. Let’s go Fifa! Let’s go Fifa!"
The speech appeared to be over but Blatter then returned...
"It is my congress, I have the right to make the closing remarks. This is a very important congress. You see I am in a good mood. I was a little bit nervous today, but now I am the president of everybody, I am the president of the whole Fifa.
"This game is important, but more important, enjoy life!"
