From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp today declared he would allow Joe Jordan to become Scotland coach if he was interested in the post.

Redknapp confirmed that Jordan and Kevin Bond, his assistants at Portsmouth and Tottenham, have been added to his management team at Loftus Road.

Jordan has been identified as a potential successor to Craig Levein, who was sacked by the Scottish Football Association earlier this month.

The 60-year-old's decision to join Rangers makes the likelihood of that happening remote, but Redknapp would not stand in his way if he changed his mind.

"I think Joe was probably interested. They haven't done anything yet," he said.

"If they came calling it would be up to Joe, it's his life. If he said to me he wanted to manage Scotland I'm not going to argue with him, that's for sure

"Joe's a good man, a top man. I'm pleased to have him and Kevin here. Kevin and Joe are all sorted."
