Your support makes all the difference.France may have taken another step towards erasing the memory of their World Cup fiasco, but the French press today cautioned a win over a mis-firing England side is only worth so much.
France's 2-1 win at Wembley last night was their biggest victory since the summer, when they limped out of the World Cup in South Africa without winning a single game.
And Le Parisien hailed the victory as a key landmark.
"The fiasco of the World Cup seems far away," the newspaper said. "It's nice that a team has decided to play together on the same day at the same time."
However, France Soir was more cautious.
"England, who endured a dull 0-0 draw with Montenegro at Wembley in qualifying for the Euros, still have much work to do," the newspaper said.
"Les Bleus, however, are definitely on the right track."
L'Equipe also warned it was not a complete performance from France, who allowed England a late fightback.
"Les Bleus lost the thread in the second half but still hung on for a win which marks an important step.
"This is essential in the progression of the new team."
