France head coach Didier Deschamps has stuck with the same starting line-up which defeated Germany in the semi-finals for the Euro 2016 final against Portugal.

The hosts are carrying a burden of expectation as they prepare to face the Portuguese at the Stade de France this evening in Paris, with Deschamps resisting the temptation to shuffle his pack.

N’Golo Kante, the most notable absentee from the side which secured their final spot on Thursday, remains on the bench for the two-time European Championship winners as Moussa Sissoko retains his place after impressing against the world champions.

Elephant predicts Portugal win

Olivier Giroud, the Arsenal striker, remains up front for Les Blues while Antoine Griezmann, the tournament’s top goal-scorer with six, is on the opposite wing to Dimitri Payet.

Portugal, meanwhile, unsurprisingly appear built around the talents of Cristiano Ronaldo while Renato Sanches and Nani provide flair on the flanks.

Much of the pre-match discussion in the French capital has orbited on the clash of styles expected to unfold this evening while the hosts’ vibrancy being rivalled by the defensive solidity of their opponents.

Tonight's line-ups in Paris...

France: Lloris; Sagna, Koscielny, Umtiti, Evra; Pogba, Matuidi; Sissoko, Griezmann, Payet; Giroud.

Portugal: Patricio; Cédric, Pepe, Fonte, Guerreiro; Carvalho; Mário, Adrien Silva, Renato Sanches; Ronaldo, Nani.
