From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Football Association does not expect to hear where England's World Cup qualifier in Ukraine will be played until July.
Normally, Ukraine play their home games in the country's capital Kiev. But this option has been ruled out due to rebuilding work taking place ahead of Euro 2012, which Ukraine are co-hosting with Poland.
Dnepropetrovsk, the country's third largest city, could be used and some England fans have begun assessing travel options for October's Group Six fixture. But the FA has cautioned supporters against booking flights as they have still not been informed where the match is going to take place.
And, as their Ukrainian counterparts do not have to notify England of the venue until 90 days before the fixture, patience may be needed.
"We understand that the stadium normally used for international matches in Kiev is currently undergoing reconstruction, leaving a number of possible venues in the Ukraine where the match could be staged, including Dnepropetrovsk and Donetsk," an FA spokesman said. "However, we may not receive confirmation until July at the earliest.
"We are aware that English fans wishing to attend this match are keen to confirm their travel arrangements. It is for this reason that we are in constant touch with the Ukrainian FA."
It is the second time in this qualifying campaign that England supporters have been forced to delay travel plans. Despite claims that Kazakhstan would host Fabio Capello's men in Astana in June, the game has been arranged for Almaty.
