Overshadowed by Dimitri Payet thus far, Pogba can yet emerge as his country’s, and perhaps the tournament’s standout performer. After all, it’s Zidane’s two goals in the final that are remembered, not his red card against Saudi Arabia. The Juve midfielder has played like a man trying just a little too hard so far. Coming into the business end of the tournament, Didier Deschamps will be hoping the shackles come off and Pogba proves what all the fuss is about.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since Thierry Henry’s infamous handball in the second leg of the playoff for the 2010 World Cup. Henry will be relieved that ITV are screening the game.

Robbie Brady:
The pictures of Brady embracing his tearful brother after his winner against Italy will be one of the enduring images of this tournament.
The Norwich winger was outstanding throughout against the Italians, showcasing his excellent technique and consistently beating players. His dead ball delivery could be key to Ireland’s chances of causing an upset in Lyon.
