England recorded a 6-0 qualifying victory over Belarus in Bournemouth on Saturday, in their first match since finishing bottom of their group at the European Championship – which resulted in head coach Hope Powell leaving her post, with former assistant Brent Hills promoted to caretaker manager.
While Turkey may be ranked only 65 in the world, Everton Ladies midfielder Scott insisted England must be fully focused on delivering another composed display as they target qualification for a third successive World Cup. "We will not underestimate any team in our group and we know we are not entitled to win any game," Scott said. "We will go into the game the way we did against Belarus – focused on getting three points.
"We played well against Belarus. It was important to get the win, but I thought we played some really good football, we passed it around well and we created a lot of chances, so we need that same mentality again."
