Harry Kane scored a hat-trick in typically opportunistic style, scoring two penalties and a poacher's finish in the box.
That was the opener, set up by Raheem Sterling whose sharp runs and tight dribbling impressed throughout.
Later in the game Mason Mount came off the bench to make his international debut.
The result sent England back to the top of Group A, above Kosovo who they play on Tuesday at St Mary's Stadium.
