Goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly kept a clean sheet as he broke the record for the oldest player to appear in a European Championship final match, while Aleksandar Dragovic saw red for Austria to leave his side with it all to do as they prepare to face Portugal on Saturday.

Robert Almer Made one good save to deny Dzsudzsák but couldn’t do much about either goal. Rating: 6/10
Florian Klein Made a couple of lively breaks forward and handled himself reasonably well in defence. 6
Aleksandar Dragovic Saw red after picking up two yellow cards to rather spoil his country’s afternoon. 5
Martin Hinteregger Mostly managed well with Hungary’s attack, but struggled when down to 10 men. 6
Christian Fuchs The Austrian skipper put in a big effort, but without enough precision and was helpless as his side slipped to a shock defeat. 6
Martin Harnik Part of a fascinating midfield battle, but struggled to effectively link up with his forwards. Subbed late in second half. 6
Julian Baumgartlinger Industrious in midfield, scrapped well but also struggle to link with forwards. 6
David Alaba Had Austria’s best chances, hitting the post early on and coming close on other occasions, but couldn’t make the decisive contribution. 7
Marko Arnautović Linked up well with Alaba but could never find the final ball. 7
Zlatko Junuzović Saw first half shot well saved, but limped off injured in the second half. 6

Gabor Király Made several excellent saves, not bad for the European Championships oldest ever player. 7/10
Attila Fiola Defended well to stifle more fancied opponents. 6
Richard Guzmics Not overly tested thanks to poor Austrian attack but coped reasonably well. 7
Adam Lang A solid game at the back against a disappointing Austrian attack. 7
Tamas Kádár Defended well and passed effectively going forward. Looked solid. 7
Zoltan Gera A super game in midfield, Gera rolled back the years to boss Austria. 8
Adam Nagy Slightly outplayed, but ended up on the winning side. 6
Krisztian Németh Had a busy afternoon and fed Stieber for second goal with great through ball. 7
Laszlo Kleinheisler Very lively and seemed at the heart of everything Hungary did, linking up beautifully with Szalai for first goal. 8
Balazs Dzsudzsák Grew into the game, dragged excellent first half chance wide and had a long ranger saved, but eventually drove his side to a famous win. 8
Adam Szalai Poor first half, heading horribly over from a free kick, but recovered to score first goal for 41 games and was promptly substituted two minutes later. 7
