Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has confirmed reports of a dressing room bust-up with Chile team-mate Marcelo Diaz, but says that everything is now "all good" as the hosts prepare for the upcoming Copa America tournament.
It was reported in Chile that the pair had a heated argument after Chile's 1-0 friendly win over El Salvador on Friday, after Sanchez clashed with designated set-piece taker Diaz and demanded to take a free-kick in the 43rd minute.
El Mercurio reported that Hamburg midfielder Diaz called Sanchez greedy after the game, and Chile captain Gary Medel had to intervene.
Sanchez, however, has since played down the extent of the row.
"We’re all good," said Sanchez. "It was an exchange of opinions, like [the media] loves, it’s normal. Everything’s sorted, there’s no fight and we are all calm, they’re things that happen in a match."
Sanchez scored 25 goals for Arsenal last term, in his terrific debut season for the Gunners which ended in FA Cup triumph at Wembley.
The Copa America starts on 11 June.
