Didier Drogba might not have been a part of the Ivory Coast team that won the African Cup of Nations but he was there in spirit.

The Chelsea striker announced his international retirement after the World Cup last summer meaning he played no part in the Elephant's run to the final in Equatorial Guinea and their penalty triumph over Ghana last night.

Ivory Coast won the African Cup of Nations when after a turgid 120 minutes without a goal, goalkeeper Boubacar Barry saved a penalty and then buried his own spot kick in the shoot-out.

Drogba was glued to his television along with a few friends at the defining moment and upon seeing the ball hit the back of the net went absolutely mental.

But it seems not everyone in his party were supporting the Ivory Coast. As almost everyone went wild, one of the Chelsea striker's friends stood motionless with his arms folded as chaos reigned around him.

Despite being Ivory Coast's all-time top scorer, Drogba never managed to win the African Cup of Nations.
