Miller returned to Ibrox last weekend after three months on loan at Wolves and the Molineux club remain keen to sign him, despite seeing him sit out the last two months of his spell with a collarbone injury. But Miller has now been told he will not be able to play again until the New Year. The arrival of Alex McLeish as Rangers' new manager has also muddied the issue.
The supporters of Wimbledon are calling on the club to consider forming a partnership with the supermarket chain Safeway to help their bid to return to Plough Lane.
A planning application by Safeway to build on the Plough Lane site was refused for the third time last week, and the Wimbledon Independent Supporters Association spokesman Marc Jones said: "We are urging the club to contact Safeway about building a supermarket within a new ground at Plough Lane, as there is at Selhurst Park."
Barnsley have signed midfielder Chris Lumsdon from Sunderland for a reported £300,000. Lumsdon has been on loan at Oakwell for the last two months, but has now agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Burnley have taken the Greek defender Giorgios Alexopluous on trial and he will be given a run out in the reserves this week.
Gerry Francis, the Bristol Rovers manager, is set to meet with club directors this week to discuss his future at the club. Francis has been on compassionate leave for nearly two weeks because of a family illness and seems unlikely to make a quick return after another member of his family had an accident at the weekend.
