The 27-year-old - who had been playing with Al Hilal - has signed a four-year contract at Molineux and part of the deal involves Wolves playing two exhibition matches in Riyadh.
The Saudi national captain will complete the move providing he is granted a work permit and receives permission from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
"He is a very determined character and he wants to play to the best of his ability. We have been very impressed with what we have seen so far," said the Wolves manager, Colin Lee.
Coventry are bidding for Swedish midfielder Anders Svensson in a £1.5m deal. Gordon Strachan, the Coventry manager, has targeted Svensson, who plays for Elfsborg and has just been called up to the national squad, and wants to sign him this week.
Svensson is in the Gary McAllister mould and could add quality to Coventry. He comes highly recommended by goalkeeper Magnus Hedman. Strachan, who is in contact with Svensson and the player's agent, said: "We are speaking daily and hope to finalise a deal shortly."
Nottingham Forest have signed Bradford City striker Robbie Blake on a two-month loan. The 24-year-old marksman will link up with the First Division side later this week and is expected to make his debut against Birmingham at the City Ground on Saturday.
Blake scored 16 goals in Bradford's promotion campaign two years ago but has struggled to make an impact in the Premiership.
"Robbie has shown that he can score goals in this division and we're delighted to have him on board," said the Forest manager, David Platt. "He will bring something to the team that we haven't got at the moment - the ability to score out of nothing."
Jacob Laursen is set to leave Derby County to go home to Denmark and sign for FC Copenhagen. The veteran defender is expected to join Roy Hodgson's new club this week.
Blackburn Rovers have signed French Under-21 international Kaba Diawara on loan for the rest of the season from Paris St-Germain with a view to a permanent move.
