Colchester United The club are close to completing a £350,000 deal for the Walsall defender Daniel Fox. A deal would equal the club's record transfer fee, paid for Luton's Chris Coyne last week. "It is now all about discussions with the agent," manager Geraint Williams said. "To see if terms can be agreed."
Wolves Former striker David Kelly said the club's strikers must improve on recent displays. "I once went 10 games without scoring but you just have to keep believing in yourself," he said. The Molineux club are currently the lowest scorers in the division and have failed to win in eight league matches.
Hull City The goalkeeper Matt Duke underwent an operation last week to remove a testicular tumour and is now recovering at home whilst awaiting test results. The 30-year-old, who joined the Tigers from Burton Albion in July 2004, recently signed a three year deal at the KC Stadium, keeping him at the club until June 2010.
Sheffield United The Blades have confirmed their interest in former England international Ugo Ehiogu. The 35-year-old defender has made only one appearance for Rangers this season.
Scunthorpe Scunthorpe have completed the signing of midfielder Grant McCann from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee. McCann, 27, is Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins' fifth signing of the transfer window and has signed a two-and-a-half year deal. The Northern Ireland international began at West Ham before signing for Cheltenham in 2003 and Barnsley in 2007.

Swindon Town Maurice Malpas has been confirmed as the club's new manager after chairman Andrew Fitton unveiled the club's new board of directors. Fitton completed his takeover of the club this week and has also named a new board of directors at the County Ground outfit. He went on to confirm that the club are now able to operate in the transfer market again. "The Football League have lifted the embargo on the club," he said.
Bournemouth The Cherries are holding discussions with accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward in an attempt to avoid administration. The firm advising the club's board, but chairman Jeff Mostyn maintains the club is not in administration. "This action was taken to prevent current negotiations being frustrated by aggressive and unhelpful creditors," he said.
Millwall The Lions have completed the signing of Marcus Bignot from Queen's Park Rangers. The 33-year-old defender spent a loan peroid at The New Den earlier this season. "I'm delighted to be back," he said.
Bury The club have announced Chris Brass as their new caretaker manager.
