Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Nottingham Forest could be without Alan Rogers for up to nine months after he tore an anterior cruciate ligament. They face Wimbledon, who are likely to recall Neil Ardley and Jason Euell. The bottom club, Huddersfield Town, will have Chris Holland, Jon Dyson, Delroy Facey and Kevin Gallen back from injury for the trip to QPR.

High-flying Burnley will face a searching test at Birmingham, who will pitch Richard Edghill straight into action after his loan move from Manchester City.

Derek McInnes and the striker Jason Roberts are ruled out of West Brom's home clash with Gillingham, while Ademola Bankole and Rodney Jack could figure for Crewe against Stockport County at Gresty Road.

Improving Crystal Palace will be without Neil Ruddock in defence when they entertain Tranmere Rovers, while Sheffield United welcome back Marcus Bent for their game with Grimsby at Bramall Lane.

* Health and safety experts have told Notts County they must dig up and replace their pitch after flooding left their playing surface contaminated with dangerous bacteria.
