From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The club, which sit in 22nd place in League One, have handed the 45-year-old a contract that runs until 2022.
Campbell's coaching team will also feature former Portsmouth teammate Hermann Hreidarsson and former Manchester United striker Andy Cole.
Southend have earned just one league win this season and have played without a full-time coach since Kevin Bond's departure on 6th September.
Former Celtic striker Henrik Larsson was expected to take the role, but negotiations faltered with the Shrimpers, who take on league leaders Ipswich on Saturday in Campbell's first game in charge.
Campbell played for Arsenal and Tottenham, and in his first ever managerial role he saved Macclesfield from relegation from League Two last season.
He then left the club by mutual consent in August.
