West Ham are currently second behind Southampton, who beat Allardyce's side at St Mary's two weeks ago, and play bottom club Bristol City tonight.
"I don't know why they are moaning about winning," Allardyce told the Newham Recorder.
"Because all this team did before was lose.
"It doesn't make any sense to me, but you're talking about the small handful.
"I've been a manager for 18 years now, and not for the life of me would I expect a football fan to accept playing well and losing, rather than playing well and winning, but if unable to play well, then just win."
Allardyce is looking to end a poor run of midweek results starting tonight against the Robins.
"We haven't had much luck on Tuesday nights," he said.
"We haven't won here at all, we lost 1-0 here against Ipswich and we lost due to a poorly-defended corner at Southampton, so we have to do better."
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson believes his side can halt Southampton's unbeaten home run when they travel to St Mary's.
Posh and Saints are the top scoring clubs in the Championship, with Peterborough's tally of 28 just three goals behind the league leaders.
Saints have won their last 18 league games at home and are three points clear but Ferguson insists his side will not be intimidated as they look to climb towards the top six.
"It's the nature of the Championship that everyone beats everyone else and it wouldn't surprise me if we picked up a result at Southampton," Ferguson told Peterborough Today.
"You are never far away from the top six in this division and you are never that far away from the bottom six. Three or four wins in a row soon sees you moving quickly up the table."
Doncaster play promotion-chasing Middlesbrough after they confirmed the signing of Senegal international striker El Hadji Diouf on a three-month deal yesterday.
Doncaster are joint bottom of the table with only nine points from 14 games and moved to sign the controversial striker to help cover their current shortage in that position.
Diouf, who has previously played for Liverpool, Bolton, Sunderland and Rangers, told Sky Sports News: "I'm focused on doing my best for this club and after that we'll see what happens.
"It's the challenge. I signed to help the team, do my best and play my football. I'll try to make myself fit and why not try to help this team stay up?"
In today's other fixtures, Crystal Palace play Portsmouth, Barnsley play Hull at Oakwell and Nottingham Forest go in search of their second home league win against Reading.
Elsewhere, Burnley play host to Leicester, Millwall face Coventry and Watford play Brighton.
Tomorrow Leeds will look to push towards the top six when they host Blackpool and Cardiff travel to Derby.
