Chris Powell has taken up his first permanent managerial job at Charlton where he had three spells as a player.
The 41-year-old has been released from his role as first-team coach at Leicester and signed a three and a half year contract at The Valley.
"As soon as we met Chris, it was clear he was our stand-out candidate," said the Addicks chairman Michael Slater.
