Your support makes all the difference.Mick McCarthy confirmed that Ipswich want to sign DJ Campbell on a permanent deal after the on-loan striker scored twice in yesterday's 3-0 victory over Millwall.
Campbell has scored eight goals in 12 games since joining from Queens Park Rangers in October and McCarthy said: "I left [QPR manager] Harry Redknapp a message the other day. DJ wants to sign for a club permanently and we would like to take him."
Middlesbrough moved to within three points of the automatic promotion places with a 3-2 win against Peterborough thanks for a late winner from Ishmael Miller.
Boro face Swansea in a League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday and manager Tony Mowbray said: "It was all about the three points and we got them in the end. Let's take the win, get home and concentrate on Swansea." Hull are up to fourth after beating Watford 2-1, while Leicester lost ground on their promotion rivals after being held to a 2-2 draw by Barnsley. Leicester's manager, Nigel Pearson, said: "We have got to win those sort of games. We were not ruthless enough."
Wolves beat Birmingham 1-0 in the late game to move within five points of the play-offs. The Wolves captain, Karl Henry, said: "We expect to be up there, we have had a blip, but onwards and upwards from here."
In League One, Coventry thumped 10-man Walsall 5-1 hours after captain Kevin Kilbane announced his retirement. The 35-year-old former Republic of Ireland international moved to the Ricoh Arena in July but has not played since October.
In League Two, Graham Alexander's first game as Fleetwood manager ended in a 0-0 draw with Southend.
Gillingham extended their lead at the top to five points but their 2-1 victory at Rotherham was marred by an injury to Romain Vincelot. It was initially feared he had broken his neck, but he was later discharged from hospital.
