From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Crystal Palace have now confirmed the departure of manager Neil Warnock to Coca-Cola Championship rivals QPR.

The Eagles had earlier claimed QPR's appointment of Warnock as their new boss at Loftus Road was "premature".

But the former Sheffield United chief, along with coaches Keith Curle and Mick Jones, have now moved across London.

Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle said in a statement: "It is with great disappointment I have to confirm Neil Warnock, Keith Curle and Mick Jones have left Crystal Palace FC to join QPR.

"I can assure all members of the Red and Blue Army as well as all of the club's stakeholders I did everything I could to persuade Neil to stay.

"However, further to an approach from QPR, Neil expressed his desire to leave and explained his focus was no longer on securing the club's status in the Championship. At this point, along with my legal advisors DLA Piper a compensation package was agreed with QPR."
