Wigan had looked in control for long spells in the match and scored goals through Matt Jackson, Nathan Ellington and a Jason Roberts penalty, but Kenny Miller's brace and Cameron's late strike gave a big confidence boost to Wolves who are yet to win in the League this season.
The Wolves' manager, Dave Jones, has no excuses for under-performances now. His team's torrid start to the season had been blamed on several injuries to his strikers, but with Dean Sturridge, Carl Cort and new signing Seol Ki-Hyeon fit to join Miller in leading the line, some would say Jones is blessed with strength in depth.
And that strength showed for a short period in the first half, with Miller, Cort and Seol drifting in and out of a fluid midfield to keep Wigan's defence on their toes. It was only a matter of time before the home side broke the deadlock.And after 15 minutes, as Miller took a telling pass from Joleon Lescott, he lifted the ball over the Wigan goalkeeper and into the net.
But if Wolves have four good strikers, Wigan's manager Jewell will tell you that you only need two and Jason Roberts and Ellington came to life after Wolves had scored.
Ellington almost immediately hit the post after the goal, and the striker made his presence felt in the box for Wigan's equaliser. Jimmy Bullard swung a free kick in from the right and Jackson's diving header crept into Paul Jones' bottom corner.
Ellington was in fine form. He set up Roberts to shoot wide and he missed one before he gave the visitors the lead with a drive from 25-yards that crashed in off the bar leaving Jones no chance.
In the second half Wolves attacked with more zest and managed to win a penalty after Nigerian midfielder Seyi Olofinjana was fouled by David Wright. Miller stepped up only for Filan to produce a wonderful save. Miller atoned 10 minutes later as he drew Wolves level with a simple glancing header.
They remained level for only 10 minutes as Roberts won a penalty from a Lescott foul and thumped his spot-kick into the net.
Jones sent on Cameron and Sturridge to salvage something, and it proved an inspired move when Cameron raced through to steal a point for Wolves.
