Blackpool are reportedly on the verge of signing Paul Ince as their new manager following a long search for a successor to Michael Appleton.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Blackpool will make an announcement today, unveiling Ince as their new manager.

Ince will come to the club with a wide knowledge of the team as his son, Tom, is a first team regular for Blackpool.

Michael Appleton left Blackpool to manage Blackburn in January after just 65 days at Bloomfield Road.

Ince, 45, has previously managed MK Dons, Blackburn and Notts County but has been out of work since April 2011. He impressed Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston with his in-depth knowledge of the squad, having watched his son every game this season, the Daily Mail report.

Blackpool’s star forward Tom Ince was reportedly a target for Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Liverpool and Reading over the January transfer window and has been capped at U17, U19 and U21 levels for England.
