Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Tranmere manager Les Parry has confirmed Bayern Munich have made an undisclosed offer for teenage striker Dale Jennings.
Parry said talks were on-going between the two clubs about the 18-year-old, who made his debut for Rovers in September last year.
Parry told the club's official website: "I'm not too sure how close it is, but it's moving along. It's not just paper talk, they have put a bid in.
"Like with all transfer deals they say they'll give us a penny and we say we want three and then we fight over the difference and that's where it's at at the moment. They're keen to get him over there and it's a great move for the lad.
"I've spoken to him and he's interested. Who wouldn't be? If you look back at the number of young players who have had the chance to go abroad to one of the giants of Europe, there's very few English players who have done that. It's a fantastic opportunity for him."
Liverpool-born Jennings stepped off the bench to make his first-team debut last September in the home draw against Charlton and made his first start the following Saturday at Colchester. He made a total of 32 appearances last season for Rovers, scoring six goals.
