Swans supporters braved the freezing conditions to line the streets – hoping to catch a glimpse of their first major trophy – which guarantees them a place in next season’s Europa League.
They were celebrating after dashing League Two Bradford City’s dreams with a comprehensive 5-0 win in Sunday’s Capital One Cup final at Wembley.
The parade started outside the City’s Dragon Hotel at 4.30pm, travelling down the Kingsway and St Helen’s Road, before a grand finish at the Brangwyn Hall.
The squad, management and staff then attended a civic reception at the Guildhall, where Swans chairman Huw Jenkins addressed the waiting fans.
He said: “I don’t think any of us could’ve dreamed where we are today. The last 10 years have been fantastic for this football club.”
Captain Ashley Williams led the praise for the club’s fans: “There are supporters at this club who have been behind Swansea City for a long time and have seen the club during tough times,” he said.
“Now they can celebrate the club’s first major trophy. It’s a great reward for them, and I’m sure they are all really enjoying this success.”
Defender Chico Flores also got into the party mood - by spraying the waiting crowd with champagne.
