Jose Mourinho has made four changes to the side that were humiliated 4-0 by Chelsea on Sunday but new-signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan continues to miss out.

The Armenian was not named in Mourinho’s match-day squad as the Portuguese manager unveiled a strong starting XI.

With Eric Bailly ruled out for two months, the United boss has been subsequently forced to make a number of changes to his side’s defence.

Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw come into the backline as Daley Blind shifts across from left-back to centre-back.

Further forward, Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard step aside as Juan Mata and Michael Carrick are handed starts.

As for Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have made nine changes to the side that draw 1-1 with Southampton over the weekend.

Guardiola had promised to hand his youngsters a chance and he’s stayed true to his word with the likes of Aleix Garcia Serrano and Pablo Maffeo coming into the side.

Leroy Sane and Kelechi Iheanacho both make a return to the starting XI while Willy Caballero replaces Claudio Bravo in goal.

Starting XI:

Manchester United: De Gea, A Valencia, Rojo, Blind, Shaw, Carrick, Herrera, Mata, Pogba, Rashford, Ibrahimovic.

Manchester City: Caballero, Maffeo, Otamendi, Kompany, Clichy, García Serrano, Fernando, Sané, Jesús Navas, Iheanacho, Nolito.
