City can win an unprecedented domestic treble on Saturday by beating Watford at Wembley and adding to their Premier League and EFL Cup titles in the process.
Kompany will be especially keen to lift the Cup, as the club captain could potentially be making his final appearance for the club after 11 years of service.
The Belgian has won nine domestic honours in that time, though he does not need to prospect of a historic treble to be motivated for Saturday.
“It’s not about adding that achievement [the domestic treble] to my CV,” Kompany said. “I don’t care about my CV.
“I know this team and they are like a pack of lions. When this team is hungry, they are such a special team. I’m going to do everything I can to put a bit of blood in that water, so this team gets even hungrier.
“You can’t be complacent going into any game,” the 33-year-old added. “Sometimes draws go in your favour along the way but you still have to deal with the challenges in front of you and make sure you reach the final.
“To have reached this final and coming up against Watford is an achievement in itself, but now we need to try and win it.”
Kompany had a vital role in the Premier League title win, as his spectacular long-range goal was enough to beat secure a crucial 1-0 victory over Leicester City in the penultimate game.
City still needed to beat Brighton on the final day to guarantee a successful defence of their crown, and the Belgian paid tribute to those who secured their 4-1 victory at the Amex.
“My goal feels like it happened two months ago,” he joked. “I’m grateful to Kun [Sergio Aguero] for scoring as quickly as he did on Sunday, I’m grateful to [Aymeric] Laporte for scoring when he did and I’m grateful to [Riyad] Mahrez and [Ilkay] Gundogan.
“That sums us up, I’ve given four or five names and all these guys stepped up when they needed to. We’re a big team and there’s no denying this. I’m so eager to play the FA Cup final. I’m so motivated.”
