Hull vs Arsenal: FA Cup replay chaos leaves fans in limbo as Watford, BT Sport and Sky Sports await winners

Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal, Hull City and Watford head into this weekend in a state of confusion as the three clubs do not yet know who, when or where they will be playing, such is the fixture pile-up in English domestic football this season.
The Gunners have flown north to Hull on Tuesday to compete in their FA Cup fifth round replay following the 0-0 draw over a fortnight ago. Due to a full card of Premier League fixtures last Tuesday and Wednesday, and Arsenal’s Champions League commitments the week before, this evening posed the only opportunity for the replay to go ahead before the scheduled weekend for the sixth round.
That has already landed the Football Association in trouble with Uefa, given that domestic games involving top flight clubs are not supposed to take place on the same day as declared European nights.
Yet it has also caused mass confusion among clubs and fans from London to Humberside. Watford fans have had to wait for FA Cup sixth round tickets given that they do not yet know who they will be playing at the weekend. Therefore, fans will make a mad scramble for tickets from 10pm tonight, once the Hornets know who they will be facing because the match will be moved depending on who wins tonight.
If Hull beat Arsenal, then the match will take place at the KC Stadium on Saturday at 12:30, while an Arsenal victory would move the game back to 13:30 on Sunday at the Emirates due to BT Sport’s preference.
For Arsenal fans, they at least know they will be playing at home, although that’s as far as the certainty goes. Victory tonight will set-up an all-Premier League FA Cup sixth round tie with Watford on Sunday, but defeat will mean a Saturday evening encounter against West Bromwich Albion that will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Arsenal supporters can already purchase tickets for the West Brom clash, though will have to wait for tonight before the potential FA Cup tickets go on sale. Should Arsenal beat Hull, then Sky Sports would be left without an evening kick-off this weekend, although they will likely still broadcast the clash against the Baggies when it is rescheduled.
Hull meanwhile are due to host MK Dons on Saturday at 3pm, and will do so if they suffer defeat tonight. However, a shock victory over Arsenal will result in that match being postponed and they will instead host Watford at the earlier time of 12:30, with the match screened live on BT Sport.
