Maguire was thrilled by the response from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side after a 3-3 draw with Everton last weekend, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring in injury time at Old Trafford.
And despite the Hammers frustrating the Red Devils for large spells, Marcus Rashford set up McTominay seven minutes into extra-time to finally break their resistance to advance to the final eight for a seventh consecutive season in pursuit of a first piece of silverware since 2016.

"It shows a great spirit and mentality to come back here and perform, get our heads back up," Maguire told the BBC.
"We know it is a long season, there are games every three days. It is the best thing when you are disappointed to have a game in a few days' time.
"Tonight was perfect, the games come so soon and the lads put on a good performance, it is important to go through."

Solskjaer, meanwhile, highlighted how his side "reset their attitude" following the setback against the Toffees.
"Of course going through is always the main thing in the cup," said Solskjaer.

"And for us bouncing back after the disappointing last kick of the ball the other day, so very pleased with the mentality, how they reset their attitude and we're positive about going through.
"I think the players saw the game out really well. We are getting stronger and fitter."
