Another League One team through to the fifth round, Sheffield Wednesday, defeated 10-man Hereford United 4-1 at Hillsborough. David Bentley pulled a goal back with a spectacular long-range shot, before Stuart Parnaby equalised after good work from Alexander Hleb. Veteran striker Kevin Phillips, 37, scored the winner 17 minutes from time. Birmingham manager Alex McLeish described the performance of the two loan signings Bentley and Hleb as "tremendous".
Eddie Howe's Burnley visit Upton Park to play West Ham after two Chris Eagles goals helped the Clarets to a 3-1 win over Burton Albion. "We want to build a team around people like him." Howe said after the game.
