From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Two consecutive 3-0 victories have lifted Brendan Rodgers' side to eighth in the Premier League, but a successful cup run, as shown last season, would secure European qualification regardless of where they finish.
Mansfield's previous encounters with the Merseysiders came in the third round of the 1970 League Cup, eventually losing in extra time of the replay at Anfield. Regardless of the outcome, it will be a particularly memorable weekend for manager Paul Cox, who got married on Friday at the club's training ground and turns 42 years old on Sunday.
England striker Daniel Sturridge is likely to make his Liverpool debut, having joined the club in midweek, with another former Chelsea player, Joe Cole, departing to QPR soon after. José Enrique tore his hamstring in the club's victory over QPR last weekend, so will be absent, alongside Martin Kelly and Fabio Borini.
KICK-OFF: Sunday, 4pm
