Huddersfield and Charlton have a rich history of fixtures together, facing off against each other 85 times since 1926. That first meeting was a third round FA Cup tie which Huddersfield won 1-0 thanks to a Roy Goodall penalty, four years after the Terriers lifted the trophy following their 1-0 victory over Preston in the final.
The two are now Championship rivals, Huddersfield winning this fixture in the league 2-1 in September. Mark Robins will take his side to the Valley in March for the reverse fixture.
Huddersfield will be without forwards Nahki Wells and Joe Lolley who are both ineligible for this cup match whilst Martin Paterson and Joel Lynch remain doubtful but James Vaughn may return.
Charlton may opt to include new loan signings Yohann Thuram-Ulien and Astrit Ajdarevic in their squad after the two joined from Standard Liege but Rhoys Wiggins is suspended. The Addicks may hand starting berths to defensive duo Chris Solly and Richard Wood after resting them midweek.
